model # 44p777 2006 model year

On occasion, the plastic intake manifold will create that phantom symptom. It seems as though they sometimes can leak as they warm and then run good again. Strange stuff...

Stopped by a different mower shop today and he was 95% sure it was a carb problem. So i took the carb apart and used a whole can of carb cleaner on it. Got it back together started her up and it ran like new! The shop that did the rebuild must not of clean it out very well and just swapped out the gaskets and stuff. I put 6 hrs. on it today without even a hiccup. Go figure. Guess I found a new mechanic if I need on the future. The other guy said the engine must be shot and wanted to sell me new one for $1000. I guess I saved myself $997 by going somewhere else. Always get a second opinion. thanks
