3.5 HP briggs

i have a 3.5hp briggs horizonal shaft around 1994 year. how do i take off the fuel pick up tube from the carb into the gas tank? the top half is brass and the bottom half is plastic. also the plastic part of the pick up tube has a crack in it. what can i fix this with? thanks

Backdraft: Can you not cut off the plastic portion and install the gas line directly onto the brass section via
a mechanical hose clamp . If not there are numerous epoxy based repair compounds (loctite) that you can use for a repair method if req'd.

im trying to get the brass piece out of one carb and put it in another. does it screw out?

Yes ! Use a Small Pipe Extractor or Handle tang from a file to assist with the extraction , since I assume the brass insert has sheared off .

The plastic tube can be replaced with a service part, no need to bugger the brass tube
