One can use a deck leveling gauge, small ruler or tape measure to get the actual measurement between the blade edge and say a concrete slab. Some use a wooden block and mark or notch it. So park it on the slab, shut it off, set the tire pressure and give it a check on both sides with the blades parallel with the axles. My experience with these are that they typically come in 3.5/ 3.75" in 6.
Can't believe I found this and it still doesn't answer the question. The question is: Does a higher setting number mean shorter or taller grass when you are done cutting the lawn on this particular machine?
