need to replace scott's riding mower tire 24x12x12

I bought a used scott's riding mower and am now in need of a new back tire. The tire size is 24x12x12 which has not only proven hard to find, but very expensive when I can locate one. Does someone know of an affordable place to find a replacement tire or if not, can I replace both back tires with a size that will be more cost effective? If so, what size would work? Thank you.

Hello, I have a Scotts mower 2048. The rear tires on it are 22 x 9.5 - 12. The size you state seems large. DT

You did not explain why you must replace the
tire. If it is small seepage bubbles (seen when
a spray of soap/water is applied) and it holds
for about a day or more I would deflate the tire,
remove the shrader guts and put in about a cup of
SLIME. Rotate the tire slowly after putting air
in it and your tire will last for years.

If you have a large gash and need to replace try
tractor supply, or internet search.

If it leaks put a tube in it. Slime will ruin a steel rim in about 2 years. It will also still leak with Slime. Slime also dries up. Slime is worthless for a long term repair. Slime is much too expensive for the small benefit it gives.. Put a tube in it if the tire is still sturdy enough for use.
Also, no you can't change tire size unless the newer set has the same outside diameter.
