Honda powered lawn mower.

A lady asked me to tune up her honda lawn mowrer, so i did that and took it back, and started it up to show that it would run ok. Her 14 year old son said he was going to use it to mow the lawn. I went home, and an hour or so later, i got a call saying the mower wasn't running right!
So, off i go to check it out. Yep, i found nicks in the blades, and it acted like a sheared key. Of course, the kid said he hadn't hit anything, but blades and keys don't get damaged from just cutting grass! Took it home, checked the fly key, all ok. Shaft not bent, didn't run right. Lady said to just keep it! Two weeks later, i tried to start it, and it did, and ran well!???? Lasted a month, with frequent starting.
Last evening, i was showing it to a prospective customer. He pulled the rope, and it kicked back, and the handle pulled off the rope. I fixed that, but it won't start-seems like it is out of time----BBL-BBL-BBL!
Please tell me what is going on!

Think maybe it flooded a tad maybe -fuel past the inlet?

When i get more time, i'll check that possibility. Right now, i'm replacing the engine that was in a nice, old, dark gray Craftsman tractor, one i got for hauling it home, free! And, i now have a neat old Monkey-ward lawn tractor looking for a ride to the scrap yard. That came for free, too, looking for the tractor cemetery, and found my place. Tin work is nice, and wheels and tires, but the rest has seen its day!
