Anybody out there ever used one of these things? I love the concept, but want to know how well they hold up. It sure would be nice to only maintain one more engine. Thank you.

If they are like my Echo products they are well built and will last a long time.

If you are thinking it's a money saving route, don't. If you add up the attachments, it is not cheap. Most of the attachments are over $200. Also if the engine have problem, you lost everything. There is no guarantee on the engine have no problem no matter what brand you go with. Another thing is you have to be careful not to get dirt into the shaft opening. I have the Shindaiwa multi tool because I got it on promotion. Just two days ago, when I switch tool and put the cover on, I cannot get the cover off later!!! Took me over 2 minutes to get it off.....I am not kidding, it did happen!!! I usually don't switch attachments, I keep the hedge attachment on all the time, I switch it just to try out the string attachment!!! All and all, I won't buy the attachment stuff because it sounds more convient because it is not. Or save money, it is not really. If it happened there is a promotion where you get the unit with the attachment the same price as the individual piece or even get an extra attachment as in my case, then it is ok. I never really plan to switch around often anyway. Just my opinion.

So they are a pain to switch out attachments? How do they hook up? I am planning on only using the edger and weed eater attachments. I just liked the whole idea of only one more thing to store and take care of.

No, it is not a pain. I just had problem with the rubber cover. This might not apply to you. You have to be careful about dirt getting into the opening while changing. I don't know how the Echo hook up. Main thing is you have to pay close to $600?? or $550 what ever for this, I would get two separate ones. You don't need a big engine for the trimmer and you can get a trimmer pretty cheap( Echo SRM211 for just over $200) and more important light weight. YOu can then buy a separate edger which might need a bigger engine. Multi tool is always heavier than the dedicated tool. If you get the PAS265 head, it will make the trimmer pretty heavy.
