Honda HRR216VKA won't start

I borrowed my dad's mower. He showed me how to start it and we started it up fine. Got it home, started it again, started fine, grass was wet so I put it in the garage. Couple days later, time to mow - won't start.

I was trying to start it in the yard - maybe the grass was too high and the blades wouldn't spin fast enough to start it? Maybe I flooded it? I've let it sit and tried again, nothing. The fuel valve is on. It's leaking some fluids and just now it was spraying fluid out of the exhaust. Seems to be seriously flooded.

What did I do and how do I fix it?

Thanks.

Shut off the fuel valve and remove the spark plug. You could ground the terminal securely (fuel has a tendancy to ignite whe a spark is around) and pull it over to deflood it or let it sit. If the air filter is saturated- replace that as well. Tipping the mower in the direction to which the filter is down can damage the filter.

Yes, the air filter is saturated. Thanks for the response. Hopefully I can get it fixed tonight.

Two questions and pardon my ignorance: How do I ground the terminal securely, and what do you mean by pull it over to deflood it? Tip it?

Thanks.
