The spark plug hole on a 6.5 toro mower is stripped .Can i try one of those helicoils & how do install them? Thanks Jim

Best to have a machine shop do it instead of spending the money for the tool etc.

IF you have an Auto Zone in your area, you might see if they have the tool for loan for helicoil or actually, I prefer solid thread inserts.

Hi Walt I have a coil from many years ago & i forgot how to use it i lost the instructions . Thanks Jim

try Utube probably got training video on how to do it?? For me putting the heili-coil is is the easy part it just screws in and break the tang off at the bottom. The hard part is Selecting the right size drill bit, drilling the hole straight and taping threads for the heili-coil to screw into.

Probably a Tecumseh engine. Find a used head at your local lawn mower junk yard, buy a head gasket and replace it.

I helicore my 17hp. They sell complete kit with insert, tap and install. But can almost a buy head for the cost.
Use a 14mm tap and install the insert on plug to install.
