For a cheaper spare mower (used to cut a large vacant lot) I purchased a Weed Eater 22 inch w/5.5 hp from my local K-Mart. It's a "plain jane" type of mower, but let me tell you.....it cuts great. I have no complaints. It starts on the first pull and was ready to go out of the box. All I had to do was extend the handle and tighten...put in the oil that came with it and gas. If you want a no frills workhorse mower.....I highly recommend. It also comes in 20 inch for a smaller yard.
