Craftsmens 42" Deck

So i have a Craftsmen lawn tractor. it runs fine except that when i raise and lower the deck it is uneven. if i have it all the way down the left side is up, if i raise it the right side is down but the left side is up. i've tried everything i possibly could think of to fix it, but i cant think of anything else. any sort of help would be appreciated.

You may need to pull the deck and inspect the lift links. You will see the links come off the arm that is basically attached to the lever you pull. The model number from below the seat could be helpful.

I have had the same problem (Craftsman 42" as well), and have had to replace several lift links over the years. I keep a spare set handy, because I have had them break on me before. Mine have broken or bent where the 90 degree bend in the lift link is.
