Clutch won't start

I have a Craftman. I start the lawnmower and pull to start the clutch nothing happens. If I jump the lawnmower with jump start and leave it hooked up the clutch starts and runs great, but if I disconnect the jump start the clutch stops. Any ideas? Switch?

Not sure what you are talking about, but posting the Sears 917.xxxxxx (or similar) number might give us a clue as to which of the 1,000's of "Craftsman" it might be.

Your battery needs to be spry enough to run the clutch. If you have to jump , it probably needs replacing, Or at least a charge and retest. many auto stores can do this for you.
