Craftsman Mower

Craftsman19.5 HP Model # 917.270810 Serial # 100598D67805
Briggs & Stratton Engine 6 speed 42" cut
Just got this mower it had been setting for 2 years ,had to rebuild Carbruator ,I got it running but when I release the brake it kills the engine.is there a switch that would do that ?

Why yes there is-

Most likely a bad/misadjusted or DISCONNECTED seat switch.

A more remote possibility is a bad/misadjusted attachment switch.
The Most remote possibility is the brake/clutch switch, but since the engine cranks, it's most likely adjusted OK and unlikely to be "half bad".

Looking at the schematic some more pretty much confines it to the seat switch.
When in the seat, the other 2 switches no longer matter in regards to the kill circuit.
