Spark plugs come in two basic wrench sizes: The smaller (and shorter) plugs are 3/4" hex. The next size up is 13/16" hex.

Some string trimmers and other handheld equipment use a spark plug with tapered threads (no washer) and a 5/8" hex. Homelite especially was a big believer in the tapered thread plugs.
