John Deere L100 will not crank just click!

I have a John Deere L100 mower and rescently blew the engine. I bought a direct replacement engine on-line and installed it puting everything back the way it was when I took the old one out. Now when I go to start it...nothing. Doesnt even try to crank. I thought maybe I need a new battery. Got a new battery and still nothing. Thought maybe the solenoid. Got a new solenoid but nothing. If I jump the solenoid it will crank but not stay on. The terminals on the battery are clean and I dont see any obvious problems with any wires. When I go to turn the key the carburator will click but not the solenoid. When I put the key in the on position there is current going to the carb but there is no current going to the 2 prongs on the solenoid. I read somewhere that it might be a ground and there is a wire that needs to be connected to one of the bolt that holds the engine to the frame but I don't see it.

PLEASE HELP!!!
