Electric lawnmower recommendations?

I love my push reel mower but I have to admit I hate dealing with leaves. Sooooooo I'm looking at electric. I have a big ol' stinky Craftsman gas mulching machine and I'm wondering if there is something with similar performance in an electric.

I have a small enough yard that I think a corded machine would be fine. What brands should I look at for good mulching and cutting performance?

It does NOT have to be self-propelled. My yard is small and flat. My grass is wimpy. But I have magnolia leaves and sweet gum prickle balls (what do adults call those things?) that make a reel mower impractical. It doesn't have to be cheap if it's good.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Black & Decker machines get good comments from owners. But do you really want to store an inventory of lawn mowers with such a small yard?

RE: Electric lawnmower recommendations?

fori,

I purchased the WORX ECO WG780 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower from Amazon about a year ago, and I really like it. It is surprisingly powerful and a single charge of the battery can mow a lot of lawn. The design is very smart, and it changes easily between side discharge, mulching, and bagging. The bag is surprisingly handy. It is not self propelled, but it pushes easily on level ground. Its rather heavy marine-grade sealed lead acid battery is removable for safe storage indoors during the Winter. For more info, read the user reviews on Amazon. I hear that a self-propelled version is "in the works".
