Taking apart transmission my push-behind

Trying to get my mower transmission back together. Do any of you know what solvent to use to remove the sealant around the edges shown here?

I have a spray remover called tal-strip 2. Razor blades and Scotch Brite pads are your friend too.

Why do you want to take it apart I do not think there are any service-able parts in the transmission.

Based on some online research I did I was suspecting to find something wrong with it. I was suspecting to find some plastic parts that would be all worn down. What I found is all metal and it all looks good. There was one washer-like object that had some pretty hard crud around it... So now I want to put it back together and work my way back up the controls and see if I can find the problem.

I was able to get it pretty clean with lots of gasoline and a green scrubber pad.
