Lawnboy 10247 Piston ring question

Posted by Dave95 none (My Page) on

I have a lawnboy 10247 that needs new piston rings, i found a set for $42 on partstree.com, but on mfgsupply.com the set costs $3. The rings from partstree.com were for a 10247, which i believe is the E block, and the 3 dollar rings were for an F block. My question is are the rings interchangeable? Is the bore the same size? Any help would be much appreciated.

NO. But I sure would look for other sources for the "E" or DuraForce rings.

Thank you Walt, I will definitely search for a different source for the rings because $42 dollars seems a little unreasonable for two piston rings. Maybe there's a good reason, but I've never payed that much for rings while rebuilding an engine.

The partstree price includes the piston.

You might check an auto parts store that carries Hastings rings.
I know they "used" to have a catalog that listed Lawnboy engines.

Is that the 2-3/8" bore with 1/16" rings?
IF so, it should be Hastings PN 4406

Contact me at address below, put in proper format and remind me what we are talking about and I MAY be able to direct you to where you can get help. This site will probably not let me post that.

bill, I believe the Duraforce is a 2.5" diameter piston.
