Honda HRM install new adjuster arm

I hope somebody can help. My HRM215 SXA's left wheel broke off. I have bought a new part 42940-VE2-405. I have removed all of the existing parts from mower but the removal of the adjuster arm is only slightly budging. I do not see any bolts holding it into place but before I force it off, I would like to check to see if I am missing something. This should cover the last part of the removal process before I can install the new part.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

You need to remove the inside circlip. You will need a pair of snap ring pliers. The clip is on the inside of the body not the outside. You will need to grease the new part or you will have drag when you pull it backwards.

Thank you. I will try that.

Well I got the inside circlip off. Uninstalled the broken assembly and began installing the new one. I am having a hard time putting the inside circlip back on the new piece. In order for me to see the grove that the clip goes into, I am having to place clamps on the sides as the tension on the adjuster arm pulls the shaft outward away from the side of the deck. I am still trying to resolve this. Any suggestions?

A long enough woodworking bar/ pipe type clamp will allow you to hold both sides inward so you can get the clip snapped in.

Thanks, I got the clip on using 2 clamps. I was hoping there was an easier way. I will assemble the remainder within the next few days.

I have now re-assembled the wheel and adjuster arm. I test ran the mower and that went ok. I plan to mow our lawn with it on Sunday (3 days). Thanks very much for your help!!
