Hello there,
Found a used Snapper RER on craigslist for $375. The ad says :

This is a Snapper Riding lawnmower with a 33" blade, 12 horsepower engine and the mulching kit. This mower works great. It starts easily and runs perfect. This snapper riding mower mulches really well. This mower is about 5 years old, and looks great (see pictures)

I can't figure out what year this is and the owner says only 5-6 years old. BUT according to snapper's website this model has a 15 or 17HP engine?? Also the pics look different to me than regular RER....can't see the articulating bar that goes from front wheels to under seat?? Hope this makes sense. My husband is overseas and I'm having to make the decision myself as to whether this is a good deal. thanks!!

Heather

The engine code should indicate the manufacturing date. If early in he year, the mower should be the same. If later, the mower is probably the following year's production.

Thanks!
I found out where to look up publications on the snapper website and from what I can tell just looking at the ads pictures the mower is a 1990 or 91 series 7 or something close to that. The guy who is selling it says the mower is only 5 years old???? Not sure how that can be when snapper hasn't made a 12hp 33 inch hi-vac for years! Any suggestions??
