How to replace a blade drive pulley on a Snapper rear engine ride

I have an old snapper it is a project. The blade pulley broke. Looks simple just take off the big nut. Not. Tried blocking the blade. Tried turning it with a cheater pipe. I am at a loss.

Is it reverse threaded ? Do I have to disassemble the entire spindle and put it in a vise? Any help would be appreciated. I googled it and all I came up with was how to replace a belt.

Jim

I do not have an answer but when I emailed Snapper as to replacing the boots on the rear axle, I got a good response.

Thanks I will try that. It has to be an easier way than removing the deck and spindle.

I did not receive the PDF even checked spam. If you would please re-forward. I emailed Snapper but it will be next week before I hear from them.

I have again tried to send it. Apparently the first attempt wouldn't go because of the size of the attachment but I didn't get a sending error. Or perhaps I just muffed it. If you do not get it I'll try from a third service.

Thanks, got it this time. Finally got nut off with a high speed cut off tool and did not hit spindle threads. ;-)

Thanks,

Jim
