An OHV engine can blow a head gasket between the cylinder and galley- pressurizing the crankcase, yes. The pressure typically will force some oil through the breather hose where it gets reintroduced to the combustion chamber along w/ drawing oil from the galley. Either of which will cause an oil smoke. Much of what was written in the other thread can still apply here. Though I am not real clear if it isn't smoking, what the condition is. You weren't very clear on that. It is more common that a mower simply gets tipped and oil contaminates the filter area.

Thanks, tomplum I finally got back to the mower to remove the head,found that the head gasket was blown.I replaced the gasket,all is well the mower runs fine.Thanks again.
