Toro Zero turn

I have not posted here in a year or so ,I'm an old Garden web follower that lost his way !
I have been working on an older Toro Z Master zero turn mower....I just did a tune up on it, oil and filter change, new air filter and carb, cleaned and fuel filter, and 2 new spark plugs,it ran fine after the tune-up and had plenty of power ....the reason I did this is it has an intermittent stopping issue where the engine will loose power cough and die and back fire, the once started up again it runs fine ....I'm assuming it's a coil issue or a mouse has chewed a wire and it's grounding out...The engine is a Kohler SKH725U1G2r ,CH25S s/n68606 or 28280,with 1172 hours on it !

BTW,the carb was very clean, and no amount of water was found.....I did not adjust the valves, but if someone could supply me with the spec's that may need to be done !

Before I dive into this engine,I figured I would ask for advice, any received is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,BB34
