Bought a new mower: Question

After posting bad things here about my Honda HRT216, I still went ahead and replaced it with another Honda. I bought an HRX217K2HXA last week. I've only mowed once with it and I noticed that when I engage the blades, the engine bogs down to the point that it almost seems like it will stall before recovering. My old Honda did not do this, even with the smaller engine. Is this normal for these new models? It does have the BBC transmission, which may be the difference. I guess I could call the dealer but wanted to hear from the experts on here.

Not normal - engine might dip when you engage the blade but should come right back almost instantaneously.

I agree, should come right back.. I engage mine very slowly which allows a smoother transition but even if I just firmly engage it does not bog down at all. Are you full throttle when engaging? If not, you should be.

Oh, yes. Full throttle. If I'm in grass, I have to tilt the mower to lift the blades or it will stall. I'm glad I bought it from a local dealer instead of HD because it looks like it'll be going in for a checkup.
