18hp briggs wont shut off

i have a 18hp briggs and it wont shut off.I am looking for what the gap should be on the coil as I think this may be the culprit. I have replaced the key and even tried putting a toggle switch inline to shut it off with but still runs. the only way to shut it off is to choke it and wait and that sometimes doesnt work.

If grounding the small terminal on the coil doesn't kill it, then the coil is defective. .010-.014 BTW
