In your situation, the first thing I would do is put some "Gum-out" or similar in the gas tank, get it started, and let it idle for 20 minutes or so. If it begins to run better, then you very likely still have some gum residue in the carburetor, and it will eventually dissolve, if you continue to put carb-cleaner in the gas.

I think i would try a double dose of Sea Foam in the fuel tank and let the engine run under no load for an hour or so first. After that i would use Sta-Bil in my fuel containers.

Hopefully the cleaner will work. If not, likely the issue is in the stem of the carb. Did you remove the jet and nozzle from the stem and clean it? It is also important to know that the carb gaskets are not flipped and are installed correctly. Could possibly be tied in with the linkage not being installed as it should.
