I found a Toro model# 20684 in the trash today. It starts and the self propelled works in it but the blade does not engage. When I pull the lever it makes a grinding noise then takes off. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Is this somthing worth fixing or should I put it back on the curb?

Those 2-cycle models were good to use. I'd investigate and find out what is wrong with it. Might besomething rubbing in the working parts. Usually too good to junk!

BBC idler pulley likely. Worth tearing into for sure!

My 20684 was a freebie too. I used it for a couple of seasons before I got a sitdown.

It could be worth fixing if you need a lawn mower. Otherwise why bother.
