I have a Craftsman Lawn Tractor with a twin Koler engine. I charged the battery Problem is I have never started a lawn tractor before. I turned the key and the lights came on I pushed the brake to on pulled the chock and there was a red putton I pulled it all I heard was a click and that was it. I installed a car battery to make sure i got a lot of juice. The engine will not turn over. Is there anything else I should be pushing or pulling

Push the red button in, that is the mower deck switch and nothing will happen until it is off.

Question What starts this sucker. Here are the steps I follower

1-Sut on the seat
2-turn key to a point where the lights come on ( I have no key so I used a screw driver)
3-Steped on the Brake pedal
4-moved the speed level to rabbit
4-Pulled chock
5-I pused in the red button nothing I then pulled the red button nothing ( I do hear a clunk I believe the Starter selenoid is doing the clunk (1-Clunk)

The clunk happens when moving the red switch? That could be the PTO itself. I'll attempt to turn the engine by hand to make sure it is free. From there, verify the battery is good or use a known good battery/ clean terminals /check fuse etc. Hopefully the screwdriver trick is fully activating the switch. Keys are easy to find. Does yours have the solenoid on the starter itself? Model # from under the seat could help.
