Toro years back had a bolt on kit for their rear baggers. It was basically expanded metal w/ mount brackets. Is that what your version is?

Aside from the grass bag, the 'leaf shredder' was one of the first attachments they came up with on the rotary mower 60 years ago. Just one thing - the leaves have to be dry. If they're moist, they'll clog up the screen faster than you can clean it, and you'll throw the screen as far as you can.
I don't rake either. I run over them in mulch mode, then come back and bag up the remnants. This reduces the amount in the bag and leaves the finer particles in the lawn for nutrients. The leaf blower then does a nice clean-up job.
Raking has it's benefits as it is excellent for cleaning up the dead matter on the ground and allowing air and water to get to the grass roots, but I'd rather burn gas.

A pass with a mulching mower like a Toro Super Recycler will turn leaves into fine pieces that can be raked or bagged for mulch. Alternatively a well designed mower will vacuum, chop and bag leaves in one pass for disposal. A leaf shredding attachment seems like extra bother on a good mulching mower.

I can do that also, but the bag would be filled too often. I guess I can do about 4 to 5 regular bags for 1. So, I have a smaller leaf size.
How well does it work? I sold my leaf vacuum 8 years ago and I do not miss it.

Is your kit a bolt on type?

No, It fits into the grass chute and rides above the blade.

On my HRX, I adjust the "versamow" lever to 1 click back of full mulch. Most of it gets mulched back into the yard; if I need some mulch for the beds, I use the bag, otherwise I leave it off and all of it gets put back on the yard.
