Baymee is right- replace the tank, plus the line and clamps if it has been there a while. Nothing notorious about Tecumseh plastic fuel tanks at all- they leak less than about anybody's tank.

I have had some success repairing plastic fuel tanks. I use a soldering iron, pushing existing plastic beside the crack into the crack. Plastic welding takes a little practice. After I test the repair with water. Once I know the leak is repaired I rough up the area with 80 grit sandpaper and use a special 2-part epoxy glue uesd for bonding auto panels on cars on the area to reinforce the repair. Works very well when done correctly.

I had a cracked plastic fuel tank on my Lawnboy and was able to get a brand new tank from Lawnboy for free. An authorized Lawnboy repair shop told me about some federal law that requires small engine manufactures to warranty their fuel tanks for LIFE! The shop did all the warranty paperwork and submitted the request for me. It's worth a shot. Good luck!

Tecumseh is gone. Maybe there's an aftermarket replacement tank.

Yes, just replace the tank. You may be able to melt the plastic together with an iron, but chances are it's getting ready to crack somewhere else.
