Just bought a good running 21" self propelled Snapper mower. Has a Briggs engine Model 121702 type 3132-01 engine. Steel Deck has 5 notch adjustment and front wheels(Non-Metal all 4) are 6 1/2" Rear are 9". All I know about it. From this can anyone tell me Snapper Model number, age and engine HP; so that I can obtain manuals if available? Thanks.

The next set of numbers on the engine will give you the date of manufacture (i.e. 99XXXX = 1999, 02XXXX = 2002, etc.). The engine is a 12 CID Quantum and Briggs has rated anywhere between 4.5hp and 7hp, and in some cases no HP rating, but rather torque rating. Briggs has made that general series of engine for almost 25 years. As for the Snapper, their should be a nameplate on the deck, near the self propelled turntable. If that's missing, you are going to have to guess at model and age. Snapper's web site can provide Operators Manuals, Illustrated Parts Lists, and more, but it is entirely driven by model numbers. Without the model number you go nowhere on Snapper's site.

ggoyeneche, Thanks for the reply. Found some engine info @B&S site. No hp rating. Unable to find any Snapper numbers on deck. Appears may have had engine swap. Have uncovered small round hole in front of engine and several square holes rear of engine across from turntable. Most importantly it starts, runs and cuts grass.I'll quit trying to fix it when it ain't broke. thanks again.
