Name That Plant!

I.D. This Evergreen Shrub

Hi all. I see this evergreen shrub in practically every Japanese garden I've seen, yet I still can't figure out it's name. It seems to grow rather tall. I don't know much about it and don't have any good pictures at the moment, sorry. I'll post this one with the shrub in question on the left side; and try to find better pictures asap.

I'm not sure but it's close looking, I had looked up Pieris before and all the images I found just didn't convince me. Also, if it's Pieris it's not showing it's usual red new growth... of which the plant on the right is... I'll try to find better pictures still, sorry.

Is this the same plant on the left as the one in the first picture?

I'd say pieris as well. A very common inclusion in an Asian style garden. Growth habit/foliage array looks correct and not all species or cultivars will sport the brightly colored new growth.
