Name That Plant!

Some Kind of Mum?

This perennial bush was in our yard when we bought the house. It blooms at the end of September with white flowers and then I cut it down to the ground in mid-November. I cannot find it in any of my plant ID books! I have another photo of the whole plant too that I'll post.

The flopping open is typical, helps make it look like some kind of goofy Shasta daisy with the leaves bunched together out on the ends of the stems and the flower heads on too short stems.
