This wild plant was on the edge of the woods, in boggy ground. It was about 3 feet tall, modestly branched, with seed pods at branch ends. The pods were 0.5 to 0.75 inch wide, with two compartments and spiked tips. Each pod had about 6 brown, kidney-shaped seeds that were 0.2 inch long. The dried pods sounded just like a baby's rattle, when shook.
