| Thanks very much Jaynine. I am trying to put together pictures of the flower, seed pods and seeds all together in one place. I was able to collect alot of seeds that had finished flowering so I'm having some trouble identifying them. |

| I think I have most of the correct plant names and I will up date them on my site. I am still stumped on # 1. I have had a few suggestions but can't seem to find a picture anywhere to match. Suggestions were Borago and weed spiny amaranth Thanks Everyone Sherrie @ The Seed Basket |

| Compare #1 to Leonurus cardiaca, motherwort. |

| For #1, I think an amaranth is most likely. I wish the picture was a little larger. It is not motherwort. Motherwort keeps it's very prickly seed heads close to the enter of the plant or branch in little rounded tufts along the stem rather than just in clusters at the ends of branches. I just took a picture of one of the motherworts that grow at my place. It is a little snow-kissed but you should see what I mean. FataMorgana

| Hi FataMorgana Now I am really confused. I tried to add a larger image but I can't figure it out. I could email it to you if you like. Thanks Sherrie |

| If you can't figure out how to add a larger picture to your existing webpage, you can upload a larger image to one of the free photo services like photobucket (which I used for my picture above) and either embed the image here or just post the link to it. If you do that you will have the benefit of more eyes and knowledge than just mine. FataMorgana |

| The seeds don't appear to be from amaranthus. |

| Ditto that for motherwort. Motherwort's seeds are smaller, have flat sides, and are roughly triangular shaped. And no as well for the Borago (Borage) that you said was suggested. Borage's seeds are larger and look like hand-grenades not to mention the rest of the plant is wrong too. Did you ever see the plant in bloom? Bloom color? If it wasn't an amaranth, I had been wondering if it was maybe an Agastache (hyssop) but I believe your seeds are too large for that too. FataMorgana |

Hi Everyone This is a real cool learning experience. I have a few Borage seeds and yes they are larger and different. I can find similarities in the Motherwort and the Agastache plant pictures on the internet. I will try to get together with my Sister-in-law who has the plant in her garden to find out if she can remember anything more about the plant re flower color etc. Thanks Sherrie |

Hi FataMorgana The seeds above are pretty much triangular with flat sides. Sherrie |

| These are motherwort seeds. US penny is the same size as the Canadian. Seeds are different size & shape - no rounded edges, 4 sides (3 long sides & 1 small "base" side), all sides very much triangular and flat. Very different from the seeds you have posted here. FataMorgana

| Fatamorgan I received your email. Thanks. The seed pods on this mystery plant are very prickly. I still have them stuck in my thumb. I had dinner with the owner of the plant last night. She is sure she has never planted any motherwort. As soon as the snow melts away from the plant she will go have a better look at whats left of the plant. For now I guess it is the "Mystery Plant" |
