Skimmia japonica. Have you noticed the scent of the flowers? Yours looks as if it needs a more acid compost because it is beginning to yellow a bit. Some are hermaphrodite but most need male and female plants to produce berries.

There is no scent that I noticed off the flower. I had a look at the link that you sent me and its more a flower than a berry. The flower would remind you of Gypsophila in a cone shaped fuchsia colour, if that makes any sense?

The id is definitely correct - I know this plant well. It is actually very common and if you pop into any garden centre at this time of year you will see them. Yours is in bud. When the flowers open you will notice the scent. The RHS picture showed the berries. Yours will only get berries if either a) it is female and there is a male nearby or b) it is one of the hermaphrodite cultivars. Yours might be 'Rubella' a male form.
