Yep, Pellonia pulchra. Leathery leaves, easy as any houseplant to propagate, a fun little houseplant.

I'm wondering, though, about why you thought it to be a Peperomia.

Rhizo, why did I think that? Because it had a tag in it that said Peruvian Ivy, and when I looked that up to see what it needs, it was obvious it wasn't. Peperomia was the closest I could come without having a clue what I was looking for, lol!

While I was clicking and looking at all those peperomia images, I was telling myself, just ASK, will ya? But I can be a stubborn sort sometimes.

NO FAIR!!!

Home Depot would not let my have a DEAD plant at a discounted price. I only really wanted it for the ceramic pot it was in.
They said that only the vendors could discount plants.

I just hate those common names! Pellonia is sometimes called Polynesian ivy, which doesn't help with the confusion.

This pretty plant used to be very popular, but I rarely see it anymore. It deserves to be more readily available.

Actually, rhizo, I think you're right - the tag DID say Polynesian Ivy, not Peruvian - my memory stinks these days.

tlbean, that's what they told me at first, too. But my husband and I own a small property management firm, and one or the other of us is in the store 3-4 times a week for something (we do all the maintenance), so I gave her a "REALLY?!" and she caved. I suspect the $2 went in her pocket somehow, LOL!
