I have just moved into a rental property (in Melbourne) where we have inherited 50 years of an italian couples hard work in the garden. It's filled with all the classics, olives, grapes, figs etc...but then one I can't figure out. The tree is 4-5 metres tall, has lobed leaves, thorns on some branches and leaves, smallish white flowers with protruding yellow stigma and there are a few very small green round fruits/nuts beginning to appear.
