Volunteer shrub - worth keeping?

This volunteer shrub is about 18" high, with attractive leaves, a spindly thin trunk (poor thing's in shade so maybe that's why it's leggy). Not much branching, just two "trunks" and thin, tender leaves (again, that might be the light, or lack thereof. It hasn't bloomed, and appears to be evergreen. (Sorry for the bad photo but it rooted through a container and I don't want to dig it up and repot or move it unless it's worth keeping.)

Well, to me it looks an awful lot like a Malus, e.g. crab apple, or maybe a Prunus, e.g. plum. Either a seedling or, more likely, a sucker. They are not evergreen but young growth does often retain leaves a long time in mild climates. Can you show more detail of the stem, bark and leaf junctions? Do you sit there and spit out fruit seeds/pits? Any apples or plums round about?

my base position is that no tree or shrub.. that self sows itself into your garden is worth keeping ...

else... when it matures.. it will be self sowing more generations of evil ....

rarely are the free gifts of mother nature.. worthwhile .... unless you are a 'natives' freak ... and might be interested in eating every weed that comes over the fence ... lol ... and all the power to those peeps ...
