Id this tree!

Its on its last leg and I would like it to stick around. Had to cut off half of it because the stems of the leaves turn black and then the leave wilts. Was this because of over watering? PH imbalance? No idea what kind of tree it is... Its almost like a broad leafed fig.

Thanks for you time!

It isn't possible to ID it without a picture, and the URL you have given is for a Japanese site with no images

Weird. It now works for me. Those damn internet gremlins. Should have been shot at birth!
I can't help too much, but I do recall having seen something similar years ago, which turned out to be a fungal or viral infection. That is all I can recall, I am afraid.

I am sure, though, that one of the unbelievably knowledgeable contibutors will come up with a how, where and when for you.

Reminds me of Cinnamomum japonicum.

That does look very similar! It may be the Cinnamomum japonicum! Now its time to get to the bottom of this! Maybe find some kind of anti-fungal spray. And maybe a quarantine is in order...

Thanks for your help! And if anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

I also was going to say a cinnamomum.
