It may be Salvia lyrata, which usually starting setting flowers in March in Arkansas.

Thanks Jekees, but I don't think that's it. I searched all the images of cancer weed on Google and none have the fleshiness of this plant nor the bumps and pattern on the leaves. Also the purplish color is all on the edges, none following the veining of the leave as it is in the cancer weed.

It maybe be related though...I'll search other Salvias and see if I can find it. Thanks again.

Maybe a type of water-leaf.
