What are these dried up plants?

What is this plant?

Location: Seattle, WA
Garden/Wild: Garden
Type of Plant: Not sure, but it sure looks all dried-up!
Physical characteristics: Brown, thin, all dried-up
Flowers: Don't see any here
Fruits/Seeds: N/A

I am not sure the habit is right for Miscanthus.

Maybe Carex comans, 'Bronze Bronco'?

Definitely some sort of ornamental grass and judging by appearance, a deciduous form. These are most often cut back hard right around this time of year.

If I was going to make any WAG's, I'd go with a Calamagrostis cultivar.
