Not Hypericum?

This plant (photo this morning) was in a partially shaded area in the woods. It was about 4 feet tall, with stems a bit more than 1/8 inch across. Branching was modest in the upper half, with scattered seed receptacles. The receptacles were a bit smaller than a quarter, and had two sides with acute tips that were strongly reflexed. Each half of the pod had two compartments that were divided, vertically, by a thin membrane.
