I found this on the ground under my crepe myrtle. There are four trees and this is the first time I have seen this. They do have some lichens on them. To get a scale, you can see my large range burner ring.

This is a Lichen as well, just a different type.

Just thought that you might want to know that stuff like that and Spanish moss harbor ticks, redbugs, etc. :-)
