Hi, we have this tree in our garden, about 4ms high, thorny branches and bright green leaves. Can't seem to identify what it is, any ideas?

Not seeing your picture but Google up Robinia pseudacacia 'Frisia' and see what you think.

And if not a locust, try searching out hawthorn (Crataegus) at google. It is reasonably common (as I understand it) in the UK. FataMorgana

Poncirus trifoliata ?
|
I don't think Poncirus would be described as a tree 4 m high, carol23, and they're not massively common here. I have seen one round the back of St Paul's Cathedral but it was only a shrub. It could be a hawthorn but I wouldn't have described the leaves as bright green, more dull green, except in early spring. They are extremely common in the wild and form many hundreds of miles of hedges here, but they are not terribly fashionable in gardens at the moment. The Robinia is very common, in fact it's become a bit of a gardening cliché, and that's why I took a guess at it. I hope the OP gets back to us.
