truly appreciate any help. New homeowner and theres a lot of shrubs and plants. Wife wont let me trim till i find out what they are and when to prune. When I find out I can research the plant and care for it.

some kind of red leaf viburnum..

with shrubs.. its not really when you prune.. EXCEPT if they are flowering.. then we prune after flower ...

but more importantly.. HOW you prune ...

when you find out what they are.. visit the appropriate forum.. for tips on HOW TO PRUNE ...

Need another picture further back. Could be a Cotoneaster sp.

I'm thinking a purple weigela like wine and roses or something.

Not sure where you're located, but is is not Loropetalum?

PS viburnums have opposite leaves
