Yes, definitely Bergenia, a go-to plant for dry, shady spots where nothing much else will grow. I don't think you will have much success trying to combine this tough, long lived, hardy perennial with dill which prefers friable, moist, rich, sunny soil. I'd strongly recommend finding a new site for the dill.

Is there any plant that would go good with Bergenia that will attract butterflies and other beneficial insects?

Or the Perennials Forum - but basically nothing much goes with Bergenia. It is a very effective, evergreen, close ground cover with thick rhizomes. It is as tough as old boots and needs no particular care. If you could cultivate the front edge you might be able to get some tough annuals to grow in there. The Bergenia will not be flowering in the summer but the big leaves will still be there.
