Hi, I bought this aloe at a plant sale over 5 years ago. They told me that although it was root-bound, not to worry, aloes like it that way. The leaves have been red since shortly after I brought it home. Maybe too much direct sun? It is winter now and it only greens up a little, as you can see.

It has been outdoors ever since I got it - I try to remember to put it in the garage when there is a hard freeze.

Today I finally repotted it in a slightly larger pot (shown) - the root ball filled the previous pot and is a solid mass of roots.

I have been researching aloes but haven't seen one like it.

Any assistance identifying my aloe would be greatly appreciated so that I can research further.
