Hi

Can anyone help in identifying what plant is this? I only smelled it in Southern California, is it not able to be grown in the northeast (NY)?

Thanks

Cyclamen

In NY it would be a houseplant.

They look like C. neapolianum to me. As they are very hardy, they should be fine in NY.

I bought a flat of ten last year, none survived.

These are not C hederifolium (C neapolitanum hederifolium) they are florists' cyclamen and not hardy.

They prefer dryish summers, kinda the exact opposite of Florida conditions.

Well that explains it. I watered the ever-lovin' out of them trying to keep them going. *chagrin*
