Whattzit?

I've been doing well with the tiny plants sold at my local Big Box Home Improvement store. I came across this odd little plant that was the only one that didn't have a marker.

It is deep green with bright yellow variegation.
some leaves are rounded oval but seem to grow a "thumb" when they get larger.

Most waxy leaves have a yellow vein that runs the length of the leaf. On the larger leaves it actually grows off the end of the tip of the leaf almost like a little vine which I tried to show in the 2nd picture.

Croton

I googled croton and got lots of hits but none of them look overly like mine which is still young yet. Do the leaves lose their thumbs as they mature?

There are hundreds of cultivars of Croton and many look
quite different depending on growing conditions. It's unlikely
you'll find the variety you have without considerable searching.

That's why I didn't hazzard a guess as to the variety. Here's pics of different ones. Maybe you can find one that looks like yours.

Here is a link that might be useful: croton pics

Looks like the croton cultivar sold as 'Banana', which can occasionally have lobed leaves.
