I.d. help (CA native?)

| Hi. I saw this low-growing plant in bloom on a hiking trail near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.. The trail is well-maintained and I suspect that this might be a CA native. Can anyone tell me what it is? Many thanks in advance!

Looks like Vinca to me. A weed, not a native.

Vinca major - not a CA native but native to Southern Europe. Periwinkle is the common name for Vinca.

fat kitty, in some locations this plant (Vinca major) is used as a ground cover for shady locations. In others, it does become something of a weed.

Thanks for all your replies! Yes, duh, of course that's what it is. I try to avoid planting this, so I'm not all that familiar with it. I guess I had high hopes that it was something more interesting.
